The Historic Swoop-Duggins House, located in a historic three-story, three-bay, brick house with an attached two-story service wing located in New Orlean’s CBD, offers a private, second floor exclusively for events complete with private entry. For larger events, or guests wishing for a progressive event experience, you may opt to also include the courtyard as well as the entire first floor, Swoop’s dining room and bar, as part of your event.

 

The Historic Swoop-Duggins House’s event space can be privately accessed by both its own beautiful wooden staircase as well as the courtyard, both leading to the immaculately decorated rooms on the second floor. Rich colors and ornate fabrics complement the artwork that adorns the walls as well as the multiple fireplaces. The “gallery” (a balcony spanning the depth of an entire sidewalk and the full length of the building) allows guests to experience the sites and sounds of New Orleans during your event.

 

The space at The Historic Swoop-Duggins House provides your guests with a unique event experience in that not only do you have access to the second floor during your event, you have the option to utilize the courtyard as part of your event. 

The Historic Swoop-Duggins House caters to out-of-town guests and destination wedding and events by offering all-inclusive event planning services, which includes coordinating all elements of your event such as our in-house catering, bar packages, personalized event website, entertainment, florists, and transportation including carriages. In addition, we also offer our carefully curated list of businesses local to New Orleans to further help you plan your event from anywhere in the world.

 

Our in-house caterer can offer a customized menu ranging from light hors d'oeuvres to heavy enough to be considered a meal. A buffet menu is also available and can be combined with passed hors d'oeuvres or used as a stand alone menu. 

 

Besides the all-inclusive open bar packages we also offer hosted consumption tabs (your guest's drinks would be placed on a tab that you would pay for at the end of the night), a cash bar option (guests pay for their own drinks) or a hybrid of the three, e.g. 2 hours all-inclusive package + 1 hour cash bar. All packages include a special craft cocktail created for your event.

Located with just 5 minutes from many French Quarter hotels, Historic Swoop-Duggins House is a convenient venue for out-of-town guests.

Historic Swoop-Duggins House can also host your engagement party, bridal shower, and/or rehearsal dinner. In addition, Historic Swoop-Duggins House also offers an all-inclusive Elopement Package that includes an officiant to conduct the nuptials.

VALET & PARKING

Valet services are available for guests of your private event. Please inquire with your event manager. 

Additionally, we validate parking for a discounted rate for the lot next door to our building.

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure an event date. You are purchasing a hold on your date with this deposit and no portion is refundable. However, the deposit can be used to book a mutually agreeable date in the future if the original date has to be changed due to a force majeure occurrence.
